Ian Yando was diagnosed with Blackfan Diamond Syndrome at 7 weeks old. This is a rare (1in 2 million) anemia which causes the lack of red cell production in the bone marrow. Ian was treated with prednisone up until the age of 6 yrs old, this helped his bone marrow to make red blood cells. Due to major side effects of the prednisone Ian was switched to red cell blood transfusions every 2-3 weeks for the next 10-11 years.
After 10 years of red cell transfusions Ian started having problems with low white cells and platelets. In 2009 Ian had to have a bone marrow transplant which was a success.

In the fall of 2010, Ian began having lower back pain and intestinal issues. In May of 2011 he was diagnosed with in-operable colorectal cancer. He underwent radiation and chemotherapy, until he had a hip injury which led to reoccurring infections rendering him unable to continue the cancer treatments.

Now at age 20, after an entire lifetime of medical issues, Ian has stage 4 cancer and is terminal.

We would like to raise money so that Ian's mother, Cathy, can spend as much time as she would like to with her son in the short time that he has left. This would allow her to not have worries about daily expenses as well as expenses incurred with traveling to medical appointments and hospital stays.

Thank you so much for your help and please keep Ian and his family in your prayers.
