Raising for Ronnie Ronan

Donation protected
In the early hours of Tuesday 27th September 2016, Ronald George Edward Ronan, aged 52, passed peacefully after a short and aggressive fight against cancer.

Incredibly, Ron had beaten a similar bout only 2 years earlier.

His loss was a shock and made more difficult by the quickness in which the disease took charge.

Many, many Family and Friends have lost, one of Life's Treasure's!

Family humbly request that if you can, please contribute to help celebrate a life well lived? Our target amount is $15,000. This includes funeral costs, wake arrangements, and (at a later date) a beach sendoff for Ron's ashes to be distributed behind the breakers at his beloved Back Beach!

This will require some planning for comfort of our community Elders including marquis shade, chairs and tables etc.

We understand the generosity of Australians and we assure you that any funds left over after all costs are paid, will be distributed to Ron's sons to make their lives that little bit easier.

To Family, Ron is best remembered as an outstanding father to his four beautiful boys.
Ronald Jnr., 27
Andrew 18
Eli 15
and our little man
Jeb, just nine years of age.

None will feel the loss more than these boys.

Ron, nicknamed “Punny”, was well known throughout the Midwest region, having worked in Primary Industries as a fisherman in scallops, wet lining and cray fishing, as a Public Servant working with the then Department of Social Security, in administration in the formative years of Bundiyarra and GRAMS in Beachlands, now of course, Yanay Yanmar.

Also as a Sport and Recreation and Youth Support Services Officer in the Education Department including the establishment years of Clontarf Geraldton and, even to assist in Youth Justice Services as a Court Support Officer and Mentor to troubled youth.

Many would know him as a brilliant sportsman, Captaining many teams, as a teenage league Football star, or volunteering as a Surf Lifesaver.

But mostly, as an incredibly gifted surfer, who surfed right until he could no longer, teaching his boys to love and cherish our oceans and what nature can provide as they become surfers themselves.

There are endless names and faces who we do know can help out so Ron can be sent off in a very special way, one equal to the occasion.

The last two to three months have seen Ron and his family stretched in resources meaning funds are limited at this moment. We do know that Ron was loved just as much as he loved life and the world.

Life is worth living!
And that is what Ron did to the fullest!

Thank you so much, one and all.
