It is with hesitation and a heaviness in my heart that I write this as I know you may have already helped me. I need to be very honest though and let you know what is happening.
Most of you know that I was diagnosed with oral cancer in 2014. As a result of 30 Radiation treatments, I lost most of my saliva-it also damaged bone causing bone death and damage to blood vessel that aid in healing. Radiation damages the good and bad cells.
I had a re-occurence of cancer this past June. I did have surgery to remove it and a skin graft was taken from my right thigh and placed in my left cheek where the cancer was. There is no other treatment that I can have besides surgery if it ever comes back for a third time.
After all that, I have reached the point of rampant decay of all my teeth. There is an abscess now and some teeth are no longer attached to bone. I MUST have all my teeth extracted. However, due to the radiation damage, I Must have Hyperbaric oxygen treatments before and after the extraxtions and then have dentures. I have a very large medical deductible to meet and NO dental insurance to proceed.
In truth, without doing anything, total infection will take over my mouth and I will become septic and die. I know that's tough to hear, but this is my reality and I am having great difficulty dealing with this.
