9/11 Travel Study Course

Hello all,
My colleague and I decided to develop a new course at our high school. It will be a combined American Literature and U.S. History course with a focus on 9/11 and a travel component This course will challenge students to look at the events of 9/11 and critically think about the impact those events had on the artists and writers, the media, the Arab American community and the controversy around the memorial site. Through readings, research, essays and media projects, students will analyze the multifaceted effect of 9/11 on New York City and will use the information when traveling to the memorial site and volunteering with Arab American Association community outreach program.
We wanted to keep this course open for students who don't normally get this opportunity. In order to make sure all students have this opportunity, we are hoping to raise most of the funds to go. Fifty percent of students at our high school are on free and reduced lunch. We are setting up many different fundraising options, but any help is appreciated.
