Life has thrown a treasured member of our family, Laura Markell, a curve ball and we are sharing the news. Laura has a meningioma brain tumor and it is the size of golf ball. And it needs to be surgically removed. Scary stuff!
When Laura was pregnant with her youngest son, Cody, she experienced vision issues that seemed to progress after he was born. This past November she had spells of feeling bit confused and sometimes struggled to come up with words. Those symptoms resulted in an MRI where the tumor was discovered. The good news: the tumor is benign but she will need surgery to have it removed. She's hooked up with a skilled and very well respected Cleveland Clinic surgeon. Surgery is scheduled for September 18th.
Laura is a beautiful and strong woman. She is a loving wife to Ryan and a wonderful mother to her 2 sons, Max and Cody as well as a devoted daughter. She has a broad network of family and friends who love and cherish her and are ready to help and support her.
Since Laura will be out of work for 6 weeks post-op along with numerous pre-op testings and appointments she and her family will be without her income during this time. Any donation will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your love and support!
