Help Jake Marshall Beat Cancer!

Donation protected
Many of you have been following Jacob's journey through the last eight months and I would like to fill you all in on the latest. To start I will give a brief history. On December 22nd 2022 Jacob was diagnosed with Synovial Sarcoma, he visited a doctor due to pain in his hip for months and they told him it was arthritis from the manual labor he had been doing for so long. When he met with an Ortho doctor, he ordered an MRI and found a very large tumor in his hip. After a PET scan we found out the cancer had mestastized to his lungs and lymph nodes. Since then Jake was admitted to Simon Cancer Center on four different occasions for week long inpatient chemotherapy over a 3 month period. This chemo was extremely strong and we were extremely hopeful. However, it did not shrink the tumor or do anything but keep the cancer from growing. Fast forward to today, Jake has had recent scans showing the tumor has increased by 4cm and the spots in his lungs are larger as well. His oncologist referred him to a specialist in Saint Louis at the Siteman Cancer Center for a clinical trial that has had some success with this rare form of cancer. The process will begin July 19th where they will remove some of his T-cells, send them off to be multiplied for 4-6 weeks and then they will be placed back in his body to attack the cancer. We have been informed that after the T-cells have been placed back in his body that we will need to stay local (St. Louis) because of the risk of many saide effects and he will need to be close to get medical attention from the team at Siteman. The reason I am putting together this go fund me is because there will be a lot of travel before, during and after the trial for pre screening, the duration of the trial, post op appointments and the expense of living close to the hospital will be more than we can afford, and we are asking for help. My goal is to get a simple air bnb close to the hospital so Jake is comfortable, able to have home cooked meals, and possibly have his furry best friend (Kace) visit often to give him the love and support he will need. If you are willing to donate, pray, send good vibes, all is appreciated. This is going to be a longer road than we expected to travel, but will be by his side every step of the way.
