Help Erin fight Breast Cancer

Donation protected
On August 31, 2016, Erin was diagnosed with an aggressive form of HER2 Positive breast cancer. At only 32 years old, and no prior family history of cancer, the news was, and still is, shocking to say the least.

Just a few weeks prior, Erin had participated in a paddle board race, one which ultimately could be the leading factor in saving her life. Days after the race her body was still a bit sore and she felt as if she had a knot in her chest. When the knot did not go away, she went to her doctor for a consult. Every Doctor she has seen has been amazed that she found the tumor herself, and was so proactive. This is a prime example of why it is SO important we all self-check, as early diagnosis is key.

Erin is currently being treated at Dana Farber and has completed 3 of her 6 initial treatments. We are still learning more about her diagnosis and treatment plan as we go.  What we do know is that her doctors are very positive in the fact that she will beat this and come through this fight stronger than ever.
With that said, the road ahead over the next few months will definitely be a challenge. Due to the tumor being so large, surgery prior to treatment was not an option. As of now, Erin is scheduled to undergo surgery in March.

The emotional and financial burden of surviving breast cancer is a challenge at any stage of life, but at only 32 years old it somehow seems even more unfair that Erin is going through this right now. When you are diagnosed with cancer, money should be the last thing on your mind, yet those daily calls with your health insurance won't let you forget. So, as the medical bills start to add up, we are reaching out for your help. Donations, no matter how big or small, are all so greatly appreciated.

I am sure you agree that Erin deserves and needs our love and support now more than ever. To everyone who has been sending their love, support and prayers along the way, please know how much it means and how thankful Erin is to have you in her life.

A few examples of what the funds raised through this site will be used for; surgery and reconstruction, medical treatment costs (ex. chemo/radiation/medications), bills and expenses that will add up while Erin cannot work, along with any other unanticipated costs that come along with this fight
Please know that any funds collected that Erin does not end up needing to cover medical costs will be donated to Dana Farber to help others in their fight against cancer.
