About 2 weeks go my husband of almost 23 years was just having some issue being able to find his words. It took a turn for the worse so we went to abrazo medical center and they did numerous tests and sent him home saying he had aphasia and a TIA. He tried to go back to work but was unable to as his reading, writing and speech were getting worse. I knew something was wrong as he was also acting very strange. I took him to Barrow Neurological Institute. They did everything they could to figure out what was going on with his brain. They are an amazing hospital. After many tests they figured out he had NMDA Encephalitis. It is an auto immune   Disease where the body’s antibodies are attacking its self. We have been in the hospital for 7 days now. It is a horrible thing to watch.  It cause paranoia, agitation, aphasia, and many other things. It’s a very rare disorder and is new to the medical world. I am asking help for my family as my husband is the sole provider for our family and even when he is cleared to go home he will need care for a while any where from 2 months to 2 years  to get him back to himself. Anything you can give would help. Donantions, gift cards and prayers. I hate to ask but in this time of need for my family I have to be there for my children and my husband. Thank you so much.
