Help Laura Recover

Laura Thomas was reported in critical condition Saturday after wrecking her watercraft on the Tchefuncte River and enduring an overnight storm and 14 hours in the water.

Laura Thomas, 26, was wearing a life jacket but only her head was above water when St. Tammany Parish sheriff's deputies located her at about 11 a.m. near the Flower Estates subdivision south of Covington, authorities said. They removed her to a boat launch, then emergency medical services personnel took her to Lakeview Regional Medical Center. She was listed in critical condition, the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries said. 

She is fighting for her life and has brain damage and mutiple organ failure and needs our help with medical expenses and expenses for her recovery. Anything will help tremendously.
