LA to Australia

From LA to Australia

Hi there! My name is Levi Walstead. If you are receiving this letter, you have officially received an invitation to help me on my journey to YWAM's (Youth With A Mission International) Bible School in Australia and Honolulu! Currently, I am serving stateside in Los Angeles. Being here is a tremendous honor. Being able to serve and fellowship with the citizens of LA through ministry, music, and sometimes just hanging out is the most exhausting and rewarding thing I have ever done in my life. I chose to live out my calling to serve, not because of my skill set or ability, but because I am called to make a difference in the world around me.
The ministry I work for, Center for Student Missions (or CSM) As an organization rooted in Christ's love, we work together to keep these people in need properly fed and nourished as they undergo rehabilitation for various needs. As a CSM member, my life becomes equal with the people of Skid Row and others on the streets of Los Angeles. As a servant, I am treated the same, walk the same streets, and eat the same food as these individuals we so often pass on the street. In return, I get to laugh with these people, share stories of tribulation and triumph and thus become a vital part of these peoples' lives.
As I was selected to join CSM, I had also applied to a program called YWAM DTS (Discipleship Training School). This program is located in Byron Bay, Australia. Being one of only 19 selected students, I was more than excited to be enlisted in this program. At WYAM's school, I will be in a place where I am able to learn, grow, and refine my knowledge of how I can better myself to help people in need all over the world. This program will not be based on grades, scores, or the issuing of a diploma. Completion of this course will prepare me to be molded by God and sent out into the world.

The cost of the school is only a fraction of what most private colleges are. Unfortunately, my position here in Los Angeles doesn't provide the necessary income to both live in LA and save up for school in Australia. I am asking for any sized donations. Any little bit helps:even just a few bucks. I will be having a fundraiser event Saturday, May 4th, 5pm. There will be food and beverages provided, as well as a live hula performance. Active Ride Shop will also be contributing by doing raffles! Please come enjoy a great time together and hang out!
Thank you all for your support. If you don't have the necessary funds to donate, no problem! I would like to ask for prayer not only my journey, but for the people here, and the people I encounter during the next few years.

Thank you again for all your support and prayers!

In Him,
Levi Walstead
