Justice for Alyssa Otremba

My name is Nicole. Alyssa's mother is a dear friend of mine. September 2, 2011 Alyssa Otremba was walking home from borrowing a text book from a friend. She was stalked and attacked by a complete stranger. He drug her into a vacant lot behind the family home where he raped her, stabbed her 80 times and returned hours later and burned her body in an attempt to rid of the evidence. Although he has confessed to the crime, the public defenders are doing everything to stall the trial to keep their defendant alive.

Tuesday September 6, the death penalty trial was postponed after his lawyers said they wanted a hearing on his mental capacity. Our system takes care of his expenses and pays for his defense, while the family is left with the aftermath. The Otremba family has been left to fend for themselves while struggling with the horrific loss of their little girl and continue to wait for Justice for their daughter. 

 As a mother I can't begin to understand the pain of losing my child. While our state is taking care of this despicable individual, the Otremba's lives are on hold. The money raised will give the family finacial relief from the debt that incurred as a result of this tragedy. Although, no amount of money will bring Alyssa back, the kindness of others surely will make a difference. The money donated here will be given directly to the Otremba family. A portion of the funds will also be donated to The Alyssa Otremba Scholarship fund at Arbor View High School.
