My Dream

My name is Jimmy LeBlanc. Like many of you I am an avid lover of film. I became an actor and studied in a prestigious program in Los Angeles. I have been lucky enough to appear in a few major films including Spotlight which won the Oscar for Best Picture & Best Screenplay! Now I want to pursue my real passion - making my own film.
I spent two years (2008 to 2010) writing a screenplay with help from my friend and co-writer Jayson Booth. The film is a character driven drama about 5 childhood friends from my home town of South Boston. Adults now, they still run around pulling the same crap they did when they were twelve. These stick-up-kids ultimately learn a scarring lesson about their chosen way of life. A fictional story with input from friends and industry insiders whose opinions I value, the story is edgy, entertaining and most importantly it is authentic.
I have continued to refine the screenplay over the years and once confident that I had a product worthy of the silver screen, I took it to Hollywood. I leveraged my network of contacts and anyone who would listen to me in an effort to get my film made. I have tried countless ways to fund this project but the powers that be just aren’t willing to bankroll an unknown. I have come to terms that the only way to get this made is to make it myself. So I will…
To do this, there are a number of logistical steps I must take prior to attempting to fund the production of the movie itself, which will also be crowd funded through an Indiegogo campaign later this year. These steps include establishing a production company (legal entity), obtaining a detailed budget for the film based on the script and securing marketing tools and resources required for campaign success.
I have a few thousand dollars of my own money but it’s just not enough to get started. I’m asking you, my family, my friends and all lovers of film to help me reach my goal of raising the additional $7,500 needed to get my project off the ground. I believe in strength in numbers. If 750 people give just $10 then we are there. Every little bit will go a long way in helping me fulfill my dream.
Please give what you can - I appreciate all your help!
Thank You and God bless - Jimmy LeBlanc
