Support for Sherry Austin

As many of you know, on Saturday, August 6th, Sherry was admitted to the hospital after experiencing recurrent headaches for several weeks. Many tests were performed and it was discovered that she has several brain tumors. On Tuesday, August 9th Sherry had surgery on her brain which included an initial biopsy. After a few days, Sherry was moved to acute rehab at VBH. She ended up back at Lynchburg General Hospital after some complications. She was then discharged home on Monday, August 22nd as she awaited the biopsy results. She had an appointment at UVA on Thursday. She then went to Duke University Medical Center on Sunday, August 28th where she was admitted. The plan is for Sherry to have another brain surgery tomorrow to remove one of the tumors and send for another biopsy. Sherry will be spending at least another week at Duke. She will then be discharged but will need to stay somewhere close to Duke for another week to be monitored closely.
Sherry has a long road ahead of her and we all want to do everything we can to make this journey as easy as possible for her. Obviously Sherry has been unable to work and the medical bills are accumulating daily. I would love it if we could help relieve some of the financial burden that this illness is causing her.The outpouring of love and support that Sherry has received thus far is very much appreciated.
