Songkran (Elle) Techasena

Hello, my name is Andre. This is a campaign for my deceased wife, Songrkan (many of her friends may have known her as Elle), who passed away this past Friday (8/5/2016) at 10:47am... Foremost, I would like to provide everyone with a brief history of Elle's medical background:

Back in January of 2015, Elle experienced severe pain in her lower abdomen area. Upon investigation, the doctors found the cause of this pain and diagnosed her with cervical cancer. Over the span of several months, Elle went through multiple rounds of chemotherapy and radiation treatments, and the treatments concluded in May of 2015. After the treatments ended, Elle physically felt better, and we were relieved thinking that she was "cured" of her cancer. Life resumed as normal up until late October, which Elle then experienced severe chest pains. She was rushed to the local emergency room, and the doctors there found an abnormality in her heart. She was then transferred to a hospital in Baltimore where a team of specialists further investigated this abnormality. The doctors discovered two masses in her heart, and they concluded that these masses were cancerous tumors... The doctors were baffled at this development. Apparently, cases of cervical cancer spreading to the heart is "very rare", and due to the rarity of this situation, the doctors were unsure of the best way to approach with treatment options. Ultimately, Elle was subjected to more chemotherapy and radiation treatments, which lasted till June of 2016. Elle was then forced to stop treatments due to progressively worsen chest pains. Follow-up scans revealed that the masses in her heart did not react to the treatments and were actually growing instead of shrinking. Elle tried her best to fight through the pain, but a few days ago, the pain became too unbearable for her to handle, and she passed away...

This GoFundMe page is set up for Elle's friends, family, and others who are interested in helping with Elle's funeral, medical, and mother's travel expenses. It goes without saying that Elle's mom and I will absolutely appreciate any support we can receive.

I was there with Elle every step of the way during her treatments, and I can honestly say that she fought very hard in hopes of recovering from her illness... Throughout these past couple of years, I was happy to see how many great friends she had who provided tremendous support and encouragement on her journey to recovery. I know that she's very thankful of you all, and please know that I am very thankful as well...!
