Ron's Multiple Myeloma Cancer Fund
Hi!
As many of you know, I was diagnosed with cancer back in February. Multiple Myeloma is a cancer that begins in your bone marrow, but spreads to various parts of the body through the blood stream. It's what caused my kidney failure a couple of years ago. It has also caused lesions on my bones, which can lead to fractures and breaks. I know it has already effected a couple of vertebrae.
I'm on chemo therapy. Couple of different drugs in a 2 week on, 1 week off cycle. Long term, though actually not that long away, the VA (Veteran's Administration) wants to send me to a facility in Nashville, TN, for Stem Cell Replacement Therapy. They plan on harvesting my stem cells from my marrow, giving me high dose chemo to kill everything (including my immune system), then giving me back my stem cells. Hopefully it puts me into remission.
Needless to say, I'm currently out of work. Expenses are starting to pile up. Even though most of my medical is covered by the VA, I still have some serious medical bills that need to be taken care of. That's along with the normal day to day bills that are becoming difficult to handle. And, that's not counting my stay in Nashville.
I have applied for disability, but even if I am approved right away, I won't see my first payment until September. So, as much as it pains me, I need to reach out for help. Anything you contribute will help keep my head above water.
Thanks......
