Let us tell you about our father Gary Lester. A man after God’s own heart. A man who always kept God as the head of his life, his family, and his own. Our dad has always been a hard worker and devoted family man. He is a dedicated member of Welcome Friend Baptist Church where he has served for years. He has been a devoted loving husband and provider for over 30 years. He has followed the teachings of Jesus and has willingly helped so many friends and family throughout his life with a smile and a cheerful spirit.
After working 27 years for Delta Airlines he was laid off and was unable to receive retirement benefits due to age restrictions. Recently, our dad was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer that is spreading throughout his body. Our dad has always been a healthy robust man. Never one to sit and rest, always doing things around the house and for others. Our dad never smoked cigarettes nor drank. How could this happen to our father, we ask? Now our dad is in pain trying to walk, get up, and to do things for himself. He now goes daily for radiation and chemotherapy sessions which leaves him tired and unable to get out of the truck, climb stairs to bed, and even sometimes to dress himself. Even walking with crutches is painful for him. Now that our dad is unable to work there are financial obligations that still have to be met. Parking fees, co-payments and prescription medicine, transportation add more to the stress he is under.
We are asking everyone, friends, family, Prayer Warriors, God fearing people if you can pray for us for strength, encouragement, and continued support during this difficult time. We also are asking for any financial support you can help provide at this time. Matthew 21:22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing ye shall receive. We firmly believe in his word as our dad has taught us. We pray God will touch your hearts so you may help us financially.

2 Corinthians 12:9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.
