Hi :) so a bit about me: i'm 19 and im currently attending film school. my name is violet and i'm a non-binary lesbian and use they/them pronouns.
i started school on october 1st and things were looking good financially because i had a good paying, albeit, exhausting night job that payed me just enough to pay for my tuition. my parents live near the school in just the next town over so to save more money i opted out of student housing and have been living at home. but my parents also have their own financial struggle and with my father recently losing his job and having to pick up small jobs to make ends meet, while my mom also worked several jobs, they also have my 7 year old sister to worry about. now, things with my job are going sideways bc im late to almost all my classes bc i hardly sleep and i'm falling asleep in nearly every class, it's taking a harsh toll on me physically bc i have a small physique and it's a laborious job, so i've been searching for a new job. then just today my mother informed me that my parents are looking to move into the city about an hour away, and with no car of my own id be paying a lot for transportation and the commute wouldn't fit my schedule for my classes. so i decided to look into student housing, but i'll need to make an $1200 down payment plus pay for extra utilities and food, furniture, etc. i already pay close to $600 a month for my tuition which takes just about all of my current paychecks and what's left i use to feed myself. on top of that student housing will be $500-575 at the very least and while it could be covered by a student loan, im unlikely to get my applications accepted because my father has poor credit and both my parents income is too low to co-sign for me. so my options now are somehow come up with all the money i need miraculously or drop out and continue living with my parents wherever they go, but because of their financial burden already it's highly unlikely they'll have room for me. right now, i'll have to quit my job because i won't have proper transportation to get there, my income will be half of what it has been while my monthly bills and fees will more than double. all im asking is a bit of assistance to help me make the down payment and get myself on my feet so i don't have to give up on my schooling. anything is appreciated. thank you. ❤️
