Hello,
My name is Ran. I write this with a heavy heart. Heavy, but thankful. Recently we almost lost a friend to a horrible motorcycle accident. I say friend but as anyone who knows Mike Barnes will tell you he's much more than a typical friend. To my wife Amy and I, he's our family. He's genuine, even in the face of tragedy. Funny, kind, and good-natured. Absolutely impossible to replace. Always willing to help those he could. I wish for ever person that takes time to read this has or will have a person like Mike in their lives.

As I mentioned above, Mike was recently in a motorcylce accident. Saturday evening, July 23rd after enduring an emotional day from a memorial service for someone who he held very close to his heart, started heading home for the evening. Him taking a cruise on his bike was and always has been his detox. Taking the scenic route home to help clear his mind he found himself caught in some rain. As he continued traveling, he came upon an unexpected and unseen shift in concrete on the road combined with the existing rain that knocked his bike out of control and dragging him along with it at about 50mph. Mike has sustained multiple injuries from head to toe. Broken and bruised along with the devestating amputaion of his left leg from the upper end of his shin down.

On Monday, July 25th just a few hours after I had learned about the accident and in the CCU with him, I was inspired by his relentless outlook and positivity on what life had just dealt him. Broken and bruised with nothing left but a smile on his face and joke to follow. When most of us would be in our darkest depths he was the opposed. An extremely profound impact that I have never in my life felt before.  I already knew the kind of good hearted person Mike was until that moment in CCU when he changed the way I will forever view who he is and what lies within him. I can never thank him enough for that gift. Though our lives together will be different from now on, I am grateful to just be able to have the next laugh, cry, drink, text, call, hug, etc...

Mike still has a long road to recovery along with a handful surgeries and therapy to come. He continues to inspire all of us with his unbound positive outlook, strength, and love for life.

By this point I want to thank you for your time and reading this far. Here is where we can fight for Mike Barnes and his AMAIZINGLY Strong Mother Nancy Barnes who has not left his side. We all know now where he gets this inspiring strength. Nancy, Thank You for that gift and all that you do. This is where we can help eleviate the everyday stress daily life give all of us. Helping recoupe lost time from their jobs, their everyday bills, help put food in their mouths, gas in their car, etc.... Things that right now have to be secondary.

Again, I thank you for taking your time and reading this. I know Mike & Nancy will love and respect all the compassion and generosity you are willing to give. In our eyes, they deserve it.

Love,
Mike & Nancy Barnes, Myself, and everyone else that  holds him in their hearts.

"We begin to inspire when we no longer look for appreciation from anyone around us. We begin to inspire when we finally give up comparing ourselves with the world. We begin to inspire when we give up the fake emotions, and hold on to our real ones. We begin to inspire, once we understand that working on ourselves is the fastest way towards achieving our dreams. We begin to inspire when we finally decide to follow that faint voice inside of us that's been speaking continuously for years. We begin to inspire when we stop trying to take whatever we can get, and choose instead to focus on giving. We begin to inspire when we choose to take yet another step forward, although everyone recommends otherwise. We begin to inspire when we work very consistently that the world has no other option than to look at our souls with appreciation. And we continue to inspire, insofar as we stay true to ourselves. For as long as we stay connected to the greatness within, we will continue to rise."
