Family, friends, and supporters, thank you for taking the time to view my fundraising page! I am trying to raise money for my upcoming medical expenses surrounding my chest reconstruction surgery. This surgery is not at all covered by my insurance and is therefore putting a very deep and ominous hole in my pocket and I am so grateful for any help I can get!
I will be having surgery with Dr. Garramone (the double incision method) in Davie, Florida. He is the most affordable AND he is also the leading expert on this type of surgery. People come from all over the world just to see him! Top surgery is a type of chest reconstructive surgery, similar to a double mastectomy, which helps reduce my risk for breast cancer and also takes a HUGE load off my body stress and social confidence level. It saddens me that I'm a guy who can't take his shirt off when it 120 degrees outside and swim in the pool like everyone else. It is a daily struggle to live as a man while still having breasts and it's been a huge barrier to reaching my full potential:which is why I have kicked my surgery fundraising into high gear and created this profile! I am hoping that it will help me raise the money that I need to go through with my surgery and be back on my feet, smiling brighter than ever by the time next summer rolls around!
What I need:
6900 for surgery
600 for two round-trip plane tickets to Florida (one for me and one for a caretaker)
700 for post-op housing for 7-10 days
200 for food an car rental
I know it's a lot, but I've got a good headstart! I've already personally saved $1000. So that leaves me with $7400 to raise. It is so easy for me to look at that number and feel overwhelmed, but I want to be honest with all of you about how much I really need to make this dream a reality. I am asking for donations of all amounts.
There is no amount too small to help, and if you can't afford to donate then you can still help out by sharing this page and spreading it around to as many people as possible!
While September is my personal goal for surgery, it's really dependent on how much I can save/raise and how quickly we can all make this happen. Thank you so much for taking the time to look at my page, I am so grateful to have family, friends, and a community that I can lean on for support!
