Help Rachel Beat Cancer

Rachel was working hard to pull herself up by her bootstraps when breast cancer cut the straps. Her employers promised to support her, but after several surgeries and rounds of chemotherapy, she just couldn’t wrestle the 200-pound dogs in the vet’s office where she worked. She had to get a less physical job in data entry, but that job ended with the pandemic. And though she searched for another job, continuing chemotherapy meant she couldn’t spend more than a few hours in front of the computer each day. When she applied for disability, she was told she’d have to give up her only source of income: unemployment compensation. 
 
Unfortunately, Rachel’s financial situation is dwindling faster than her health. She has no family besides her cat Mindy. Though she stayed in touch with the finance company, they still repossessed her car in the middle of the night. She can no longer afford her chemo meds after her ACA health insurance was suspended. And she hasn’t been able to get other state assistance, but she keeps trying.
