Growing Our Future: Indoor Herb Gardening Kits

Hi everyone!! “Growing Our Future” gave out over 135 Gardening kits to youth in and around Bemidji this spring because of you and your very generous donations. Our kits didn’t just benefit one young person, they reached the whole family. Gardening is something anyone can do, when given the proper resources and instruction. Our kits promote healthy eating, environmental consciousness, and community. Why not keep the momentum throughout the whole year?
And that’s just what we want to do:
“Growing Our Future” is currently working on the budgeting and implementation of an indoor herb gardening kit for youth ages 18 and under from in and around Bemidji, Minnesota.
The goal for the kits is to reach 200+ youth and supply them with indoor herb gardening supplies and resources. All youth deserve the opportunity to garden, regardless of their financial status or living situation.
These kits will (most likely) include the following:
4-6 types of compatible herb seeds
soil
a form of watering (spray bottle, watering can etc)
a small container(s), suitable for countertops and windowsills.
plant stakes/labels.
guides and information
