Fundraising to Freeze Kia’s Eggs

In May 2018, at the age of 19, my daughter Kia was diagnosed with Endometriosis. The progressive nature of the condition, the treatment and upcoming surgery, has and will continue to jeopardise her fertility. She has been advised to freeze her eggs as soon as possible after surgery, to give her the best chance of having babies in the future. Unfortunately, this is not funded on the NHS for those with Endometriosis, and will cost between £5000-£10,000.

Over the years, I have raised thousands of pounds for many worthy charities. This year, my fundraising focus has changed. I am running the Virgin London Marathon in April and the Fylde Cost Tri-olgy triathlon series (in April, May and September), to help Kia raise money to contribute towards Freezing her Eggs.

Kia’s resilience and positive attitude is inspirational and has enabled her to continue to work and study for her Nursing degree, despite the impact Endometriosis has on her life. I am extremely proud of everything she is and everything she does and we would gratefully appreciate your support.

Kia has shared her story to raise awareness of the condition. Please see the link of her story below.
