My name is Casey and I am working to get my Golden Pyrenees, Rory, trained to be a PTSD and Anxiety Alert dog.
I have had severe anxiety and panic attacks for many years.
I am afraid to be home by myself.
I panic if people get to close to me.
Loud noises are the worst. They send me from fine to a shaking mess in a snap.
How I got this way is not important but this is my life now and I want to make it better.
Rory will be a constant companion for me so I am able to go to work, be home alone, go to church and, go shopping on my own. He will be invaluable in helping stop a panic attack before it gets bad. I am tired of trying medications after medications that never work.
He is in training right now and has another 3 months to go. He is doing great. I get updates from the trainer and she is very proud of his progress. The full cost of the training is $3,500.
This means everything to be. Living without being so afraid all the time. Being able to relax in my own home. Gaining back a lost part of myself and getting a furry best friend in the process.
