Claire’s Wheelchair accessible van

We are a loving family of 7. We never ask for help but this time, we have too. Our daughter Claire has LGS which means she is severely developmentally delayed and has daily uncontrolled seizures.
Claire is 13. She can clap if she’s happy, and crawl around on a “good” seizure day. That means that if she has s day where her seizures are not to severe then she gets is more alert and able to be mobile. Otherwise Claire is completely dependent on us for everything.
After years of work we are finally about to get an electric wheelchair for Claire. Up until now we have been able to carry Claire out to the car then pick up her manual chair and it fits in the back of our Kia Van. We were not quite sure if Claire would end up needing an electric chair but unfortunately she does. Not knowing what Claire will require in the future can be tricky and emotional at times !
We currently have a van and are looked at getting it converted so it will fit Claire's new electric wheelchair. Unfortunately the conversion will leave us with only 4 spare seats so our family can not go out as a group.
We have come to the realisation that we will need to buy a specific van for our families needs. Selling the van we have now will not really cover much of the expense of the new van at all. We have decided that this time we might have to ask for some help.
My husband works full time and I am a primary School teacher. I have had to take the year off from teaching this year to care for Claire so any help would be wonderful. It’s difficult to teach full time because if Claire has a seizure at school , which is frequent, I have to leave to go and get her. If we were both working full time we would have got a loan but it’s impossible when I can’t teach right now. The car is around $40,000. It’s essential as you can’t lift this new electric chair , you have to have a ramp, lift etc . Life changes !
