Deborah Bertini's Breast Cancer Fund

My Mother Deborah Bertini is a 56 year old mother and grandmother who has been diagnosed with Invasive Breast Cancer. On top on her recent diagnosis, my mother has endured so much in the last year. Since the death of my sister in law, she has been raising my now two year old niece on top of working full time as a Halifax Hospice nurse. In addition, my mother recently lost her father on her birthday earlier this year. Through all of that, she has still managed to give so much of herself in order to keep our family together. In the meantime, her health has suffered. Due to her diabetes and the strain her body has been under; I have seen my mother struggle so much with her health more in this last year than ever before. Still everyday, she somehow manages to put a smile on her face and muster enough energy to chase a two year old around during her off time from work.

I said all of this to say that my mother struggles enough as it is to make her bills and to feed two mouths in addition to her own. My mother is scheduled to receive a Double Mastectomy, and as result will be out of work anywhere between 6-12 weeks depending on how quickly she recovers. During that time, she will not be receiving any short term or long term disability and has no paid personal leave days available through her job. I have set up this account in hopes that she would be able to raise enough money in order to make all of her monthly expenses and be able to recover in a stress free environment. I am asking that those who took the time to read this to consider giving any amount that the Lord might lay on your heart and thank you all in advance for all your love, support, and prayers.
