Wheels For Amy

Well, it's Amy Hollingsworth and I against the world again. Life may throw Amy a few curves now and then but she always bounces back. However, Momma is getting older and has Spinal Stenosis among other health problems which makes transporting her so difficult! She has been having to use the local city wheelchair vans but they are sometimes booked up and she has had to wait as long as three hours for one to pick her up from a doctor's appointment. I live on my retirement check and she receives her disability money so there is no extra money to spare. I would like to raise money for her a wheelchair van not only for appointments but so I can take her shopping and to visit friends and family. Amy has always been a people person and she misses that interaction with others. In case some of you are not familiar with her she was born with many birth defects which affected all of her long bones in her body and at present she is in a power chair. Genetic studies on her after her birth showed nothing genetic caused these problems and what caused the problems happened in the first six weeks of the pregnancy and was probably caused by something I breathed in or ingested. I neither drank or smoked so we do not know what happened. She is one of a kind in spirit and we always said she has the Amy Hollingsworth syndrome! She also is in PT trying to learn how to walk with her latest Prosthetic legs and a walker which is very taxing on her body. She is very determined to try to be more mobile but we know age will be a more of a problem. Three years ago she was also diagnosed with Vasculitis which has slowed her down and there are also ongoing problems due to that disease. We are asking for donations to help make this happen and yes, it has taken a village to raise her and I am so appreciative for all of the people who have helped her make it these 44 years.
