Help Mom Fighting Rare Condition.

Hi everyone, I’m making this fundraiser to raise enough money to help my mom with all of her medical supplies, and to be able to get her to a specialist who doesn’t live in our state. My mom has been diagnosed with a very rare condition called Bartter syndrome which affects the kidneys. Bartter syndrome causes too much salt and calcium that leaves your body when you pee. This causes low levels of potassium, muscle weakness, cramping, spasms, and fatigue. It can also cause excessive thirst and excessive urinate which leads to extreme dehydration. There is no medication or treatment for this disease, and very little research. Her having this disease causes her to go to the hospital everyday up to 6-8 hours to get at least 2 or 3 bags of fluids. She is trying to get a home treatment plan set up so she doesn’t have to go the the hospital everyday. She also has a port in her chest because she is so dehydrated they can never get an IV going.
About a month ago she was so dehydrated she had two heart attacks in the emergency room. The doctor said her having a healthy heart is the reason why she survived. Also a couple of days ago she almost had another heart attack so this just goes to show how severe this rare condition is and, how deadly it can be. The reason why I’m raising so much money is because insurance does not pay for her home treatment and it costs $300 a week at least for all her fluids. She also needs $3,500 for an infusion pump (curlin pump). The best specialist to manage this condition is not in the state we live in, so we need enough money to travel to see a specialist and she will need to bring all of her supplies because she needs to get fluids everyday. She also doesn’t work and is on disability because of her many health problems. I only work part-time so there’s no way I could save up enough money to help her. I’m trying to get enough money donated in a short amount of time because her condition and health is getting worse.
