Medical Fundraiser for Bilal

I am posting this with a heavy, but hopeful heart.

Our 21 year old nephew Bilal was struck while walking by a drunk driver this past Sunday morning. He’s suffered extensive injuries but more specifically - he has suffered major injuries to his facial area. We are grateful that his long and extensive surgery on Tuesday went well but his recovery has just started and is anticipated to take a minimum of 5 months. We are grateful to God that he survived the accident but we also understand that his road to recovery will not be an easy one.

Now knowing the driver is uninsured, this shows the unfortunate holes that exist within the system and leaves the family unsure as to how to appropriately navigate Bilal’s current and future medical care and needs. Please keep Bilal and my family in your prayers. May God bless you for your prayers, compassion and generosity.  

Update: Shahid Rahman is the father of Bilal, and will be overseeing the withdrawal and management of donations as the beneficiary of the fundraiser.
