Recovering from Attempted Murder

On August 21st, 2019 me and my mom were both victims of an armed robbery/ attempted murder and attempted car jacking outside our home. We were coming home from grocery shopping for our pet treat business, after a long day of baking, to get a few last minute things getting ready for what we hoped and planned would be a busy weekend for us.  As we were unloading our car we heard two males screaming, "Give me the F***ing keys!"  guns pointed and running across the street towards us. One of the attacker/robbers got my mom against the car,  grabbed her purse and her keys and attempted to push her in the back seat of our car since the door was open from us unloading, my mom resisted, he had the gun pointed into her face, neck, base of her head, stomach, throat, and cocked the gun point blank in her face screaming for her to "let go of the f***ing purse and keys", my mom continued to resisted and told him no. At the same time, the other attacker grabbed my keys and was screaming for me to give him the f***ing keys, I also resisted and told him no. He in return repeatedly bashed the back of my head with the base of the gun and knocked me to the ground, grabbed my by my hair, drug me into the street behind our vehicle and repeatedly smashed my face into the ground. I still resisted and refused to let him take my purse and my keys, all the while screaming for someone to help us, to call 911. With my hair still grabbed and drug me back onto the sidewalk and succeeded in robbing my purse since I resisted giving him my keys, and after having my head bashed in repeatedly I was not strong enough to continue to resist him robbing my purse. After my attacker ran, I looked and saw the other attacker with the gun cocked in my moms face screaming at her to give him "the f***ing purse you ***** B****"!" my mom continued to resist and I heard him yell that he would shoot and kill her, to give him the purse and the keys. My mom told him "No! Shoot me!" he shot the gun in the air instead screaming "god d***it!" and took off running. Me and my mom were both screaming at the top of our lungs for anyone to call 911, during our attack and after, but all of our neighbors who most we have known and helped for 12 years, all stood in their windows and watched. When the police arrived after we called 911, we found out not 1 neighbor called, that a woman 1 block away heard women screaming and a gun shot and called 911. Our attackers violent and brutal attack caused traumatic head injuries to me, including a concussion,  head bruising, cuts in my head and stitches in my face. Him bashing my face in the ground chipped one of my front teeth, that now is costing us over $2,000 to repair. The other medical bills are starting to roll in such as the ambulance and the emergency room visit. 

Just 10 days after our brutal attack, someone side swiped our vehicle that was again, parked outside our home, at 3am. We were not in the vehicle but when we were on our way out the door at 7am to attend an event for our pet treat business, a neighbor, who was one of the ones who saw our attack and did not call 911, yelled that we had a flat tire that someone side swiped our vehicle at 3am. When asked if they contacted police, they said no. So we contacted the police and made a report but since no one called right when this happened, the person who did this won't be responsible for the damage he caused to our vehicle. That costed us an additional $250 to replace the entire tire: rim, tire, air pressure valve and air pressure sensor. Again, because no one called the police, another criminal breaks the law and gets away with it and we are stuck picking up the pieces to the choice they made. 

People and customers have been asking for ways they can help, or contribute. We have been told by more than one person to start a go fund me page to try and recoup some of the financial loss. The time and sense of  security that was stolen will never be regained as long as we live in this neighborhood but for now we are asking for help recovering financial burdens because two armed recently paroled felons made a choice to barge into our life and tried to violently take what wasn't theirs, including our lives.
