12 Wheelchairs for Brighter Futures

"Compassion, empathy and love are the real pillars we need to build within ourselves in order to become human." Wonderful people, I need your help in uniting to assist the facilitation of a supported environment for disadvanted disabled children living in a beautiful but ravaged rural community in the KwaZulu-Natal province in northern South Africa. We need 12 wheelchairs for the continued use of some very special children. 

Witnessing the complete absence of any facility to care for disabled children in her beloved community, my amazingly strong, spirited and unshakeably determined friend, Shwele Gumede, has taken it upon herself to welcome already underprivileged children further disadvanted by physical and/or mental disability into her personal home for care. After having worked closely with Shwele and the Zulu community in which she lives in 2014, I have personally come to witness and understand the difficulties those in this community face, and cannot express more the genuine need these children have for this equipment.

I recently contacted Shwele to ask if there was anything I may do remotely to assist her. Shwele advised she desperately requires 12 wheelchairs for use by the children she is caring for in her home. I have obtained quotes from disability equipment suppliers within South Africa, and seek to raise money to cover the cost of 4 specialised support wheelchairs and 8 standard wheelchairs to assist Shwele in caring for these wonderful human beings.

I hope that together we shall be able to help create a better-supported environment in gifting these wheelchairs to Shwele to provide the best possible care for these children.  To extend the realms of heart and support to those most in need, is indeed the gift our abundant Earth most yearns for.
