We are the parents of Gabriel Amaral. As some of you know, Gabriel suffered an AVM in his brain in 2006. He was just 18 years old. Gabriel was an active, communicative, extremely independent young person. Constantly in the company of family and friends. After a miracle, God allowed him to survive this unfortunate incident. As a result, he lost mobility and has suffered other physical limitations. Slowly he has recuperated some of his physical losses and regained some independence in his daily activities. Even with these small gains it is difficult for him to get around without assistance. He needs help on a daily basis, especially when leaving and entering our home.
To make our home more accessible for Gabriel’s daily needs and independence, we need to install a chair lift which will cost $10 000. Unfortunately, we don’t have enough resources to buy and install the chair lift. Therefore, we are soliciting the help of the community so that we can fundraise to buy the chair lift.
We would like our son to become as independent as possible so that he can once again be the happy young man he once was. We hope and pray that this will allow him to become an independent contributing member of our church community and our society at large.
We appreciate your willingness to listen to our request.
We await your help.
Your Brother and Sister in Christ,
Sandra and Sergio Amaral.
