It's heartbreaking to say that my brother-in-law, Jason Hartman suffered a devastating injury, was declared brain dead and has passed on. As you can imagine, his wife and son are stunned and in disbelief. If there was something that he could do for another person, it was done. When he was around, you knew it would be fun, filled with witty comments, and his unique laugh. He and my sister, Kathleen, were soul mates and to see them together made you realize that living for the moment with loved ones is the most important thing in this life. He will be remembered as a selfless, strong, witty, devoted, intelligent, animal lover who showed love to his son and my sister every day. In his last selfless act, Jason donated his organs to much needed B negative recipients.
I know that Jason will always watch over Clay and Kathleen. But he would want to know that they weren't financially devastated by his accident. These gifts will be used for Jason's medical and memorial bills and to allow Kathleen and Clay time to grieve and move forward with life.
