Helping Max learn to speak

Hi everyone! This week Noah will be raising money for his little brother Max, through sport!For those of you that don’t know Noah very well, he’s not overly sporty and that is an understatement ( he takes after his mum in that area!) Each day Noah will be posting videos of him running and a range of other sporty activities, as well as reading a story to you all each day!

Noah is doing this to help us raise the money that is needed to continue to provide Max with private speech and language therapy and private occupational therapy which our incredible NHS is just not able to provide frequently enough to help Max.

Many of you will already know that at the end of last year Max was also diagnosed as autistic, something we knew was coming, but it was no less of a shock to us all. We have worked hard with Max to help him develop speech and although Max has made progress with his communication, he is still preverbal and needs more support and therapy to find ways to help him develop speech.

The funds Noah raises will not only help us provide Max with critical speech and language therapy and occupational therapy to help him continue to work on speech and communication skills, but they will also enable us to purchase essential sensory equipment to help him develop his confidence communication and help him manage his emotions more effectively. On top of all this we are hoping to adapt parts of our home to be safer for Max, as he doesn’t experience fear, danger or pain in the same way as most children.

We know that Covid has made life difficult for so many, in so many ways and so we are immensely grateful for any support you can give to help us help Max, thank you x x x
