Hello everyone.
My name is Baylee Burton. I’m creating this GoFundMe on behalf of my brother-in-law, Ryan Wilcoxen, and his wife (my sister), Ashley Wilcoxen.
On Friday, February 19th, 2021, Ryan was rushed to the hospital due to a 6 centimeter hematoma (brain bleed) on the right side of his brain. Since in the hospital, he had undergone emergency brain surgery and is currently still sedated as he is recovering. The doctors are still unsure of what caused this to happen as Ryan is very healthy in general.

We could chose to throw every medical intervention at Ryan to extend his life- he would be on a trach, a feeding tube, and a ventilator for the rest of his life. Or we could chose to keep him comfortable during the last stages of his life. There was no question what Ryan would want.

These have been the hardest days of my life without question. However, God is here in all times, so we have found a silver lining- organ donation. In true Ryan fashion, he continues to find ways to make an impact on the lives of others. His everlasting legacy will be quite simple- he’s a hero.

We are now in the process of testing so that Ryan will be able to donate his organs and tissues and hopefully save the lives of many other people.

Sometime over the next 48 hours, all aspects will be in place and he will be wheeled down to the OR. On his way there, he will be thanked by hospital staff through an honor walk, as they line the halls on our way

Any donations received will go towards extended hotel stays for my sister as well as Ryan’s mother, Tana. They will also be put towards anything my sister or Ryan may need while in the hospital, and the medical bills that will follow
