HELP Smith House Burned Down After TX Winter Storm

It is with deep sorrow to report that our beloved family members Shawn and Robin Smith have suffered a devastating loss. On February 16th, 2021, they tragically lost their home of 25+ years due to the brutal Winter Storm that is currently terrorizing Texans. Robin and Shawn were at home (Houston, TX) when Robin smelled smoke and noticed their neighbor’s house on fire. They were able to evacuate before the flames from the neighbor’s house consumed theirs.
After exhausting all available resources, the fire department was unable to extinguish the fire due to the freezing temperatures, frozen water pipes, and loss of water pressure. Unfortunately, the Smiths had watch their entire life’s work burn to the ground.
This would be a tragedy under normal circumstances but Shawn has recently been fighting stomach cancer, so the timing makes it that much more challenging. Robin and Shawn have always been generous to friends and loved ones, good for a laugh, kind words and particularly gracious under dire pressure like they now face.
Pictures of the aftermath reveal a complete loss of all of their belongings. The only thing that remains are the foundation and ashes of their two-story home. Robin and Shawn are currently completely without clothing, personal necessities, and stable housing.
While memories and heirlooms cannot be replaced, we are hoping that this fundraiser will help to get them back on their feet during this difficult time and ease some of the stress. Robin and Shawn have expressed how extremely blessed they are to have survived this tragedy unharmed and are leaning on their Christian faith during this time. We are asking that everyone please find it in your heart to donate to Robin and Shawn Smith. No amount is too small as we ask for your support to help Robin and Shawn rebuild their lives.
