Candice Carbone’s Brain Tumor Surgery Recovery

Donation protected
UPDATE AS OF MAY 2023
The gracious outpouring of support in 2021 truly helped me to survive and get through a very scary time finding out about my brain tumors and the surgery that would be needed to remove them.
However, my inability to work for the better part of 2021 and 2022 left me in need of more support than ever. I did receive some help from the govt in 2021 which helped cover my apartment rent thankfully.
My father passed away and my family was left in financial distress. I moved home to stay with my mom and to take care of my dad during his mysterious illness that eventually led to his passing at the young age of 61.
Then I found out that my nose had been collapsing as a result of my brain surgery and it was causing breathing issues and chronic pain in my face that made everything more difficult. I just had another surgery this past Monday and have about $10,000 in medical bills that insurance would not cover, am needing more time off work to recover, then relocating my business to a cheaper space. I’m trying so hard to save money where I can but I can’t seem to get ahead with all this hardship. When I pray, God tells me it is ok to ask for help. I know that If I don’t ask, no one will know I’m struggling. And I know that with your help, I can get back on my two feet again to thrive and give back to the community in as many ways as I can.

As a result of me trying to wait out the pandemic I did not close my business, each month thinking next month I’d be able to reopen. This went on for nearly a whole year and now my landlord is asking me to pay back $22,000 in past due rent.

With that and the SBA requesting repayment of the loan they gave me in 2021, I am sinking. I put my ego aside to put my reality out there in hopes that I can get through this and move forward with my health in tact.

A million thanks in advance

, I have recently learned that I have two benign brain tumors that are essentially taking my vision. I have to have this surgery ASAP in order to prevent further vision loss. It’s very scary to be losing vision when most of my life I had 20/20 vision. Luckily an optometrist caught something in my test that didn’t look rught, and two weeks later I was looking at an mri of my brain showing two large tumors right behind my eyes, putting pressure on all sorts of nerves and giving me terrible headaches all of the time. I decided that my quality of life has definitely declined and the only thing I can do to help myself is to get this intense brain surgery so the tumors can be removed. Hopefully all the pressure being removed will allow my eyes to work better and will prevent further damage to my olfactory groove and sinuses. I was uninsured when I found out about this but then went and got the best insurance possible to cover my surgery. I pay $300/month just to have the coverage, my deductible is $2500 and office visits are around $50 each. Between these expenses and hoping to make a rent payment soon It would bring be a great relief to not have this burden of finances burying me while I’m Needing to focus on healing and getting better
