Help for Eugene

My story is about my brother, Eugene Hull who just recently turned 53. He was diagnosed with progressive multiple sclerosis back in 2007. The doctors claimed then and still do that he has legions in his back and brain that are still very much active. Since the diagnoses, his life has dramatically changed. He was forced to quit work shortly after that and it seems like in no time he went from riding his bike to a wheelchair, then to a walker and now currently to a scooter. As if that wasn’t enough because of other issues mainly coming from his kidneys he’s been admitted to the hospital eight times over the last two years. In the mean time as you can imagine the bills are piling up along with the cost of having to redo the bathroom to make it handicap accessible, install ramps and all those kind of things needed when a person is or becomes disable. His lovely wife, Renee who really needs to be able to be home helping to take care of him had to take on another job to help pay for bills and for other things necessary for them to survive. In the last two years because of all the hospital and doctor visits she has had to take a lot of time off work in order to provide transportation for him. She also has been selling off some things including their beloved motorcycles.
So as you probably have guessed by now there are many reasons why I have decided to try to step in and give GoFundMe a try. Listed below or just two of the main reasons how I came up with the $50,000 figure. Of course, if we can’t meet our goal or go above it will still all be used in one way or the other to help offset his medical expenses.
Our #1 need right now is to be able to get him a handicap vehicle since it’s getting harder and harder for Renee to be able to transport him to and from his doctor’s appointments and other necessary places that he needs to go. (We are currently looking at a used one on-line for $23,500 that they claim to have all the bells and whistles that he would need)
Our #2 goal if we can receive enough funds would be to send him to California for stem cell treatments that are specially designed for people with MS. This is a new thing that as far as I know is only being done in Canada & California. (that for the record has been proven to have great results for people with MS regardless of how far along they are) We figured out after speaking to a representative over the phone about cost and paying for plane tickets…ect…that the total cost for everything could be as much as $20,000 or more. This is a one-time three-day treatment plan which in most cases have been proven to only need to be done once.
In closing, I would like to say that anything that anyone can do big or small would mean the world to me because it would not only help my brother but also my sister-n-law who is under so much stress and financial burden. We all know that God is a Healer and that all things are possible with Him. We also know that there are times that He used Doctors and others in order to help create miracles. With all that being said please prayerfully consider what you can & will do. Whether it be giving, sharing this page or praying for God’s will over this situation please know that it all is greatly appreciated and that we (Eugene, his family & all his other loved ones) will forever be extremely grateful.
