Two front teeth for Adrian fund!

Don protégé

The Basics:
A freak skateboarding accident extracted my brother's front teeth as a young teen. Now that he's old enough for implants insurance won't help and the years have added complications like bone loss. I'm raising money to return his smile to its proper place in our family photos and his life.

The Patient:
My brother Adrian is super cool. He likes reading fantasy books, making plushies, cosplay, theater, and his artist girlfriend Kelly. He's major Hamiltrash, and he is the best person to invite over for game night.

The Breaks:
All his family has moved away so he is on his own, and, like many of us 'millennials' he doesn't have extra at the end of the month. In the time since the accident, his mouth has been through a lot - his bone began to disappear and a series of temporary solutions left more to fix than they helped. His periodontist quoted the project at a whopping $40,000. Faced with an expense double his annual income, he resigned himself to uncomfortable false teeth when he could next afford them.

Plot Twist:
Like any good nosy big sister, I got on his case and decided to help. I researched insurance ('hahaha nice try'), accident lawyers (too late, no case), even medical loans (in a hole? want a bigger hole?). However, I did find one good thing!

The Solution:
UCLA has a dental school, with a graduate center that specializes in implants at that. I got Adrian a consult with Dr. Pi, a man at the forefront of implant research with all of the latest technology at his fingertips. For less than half the cost of a private practice, he can have the work done by the best in the field.

The Appeal:
Having teeth is a big deal, physically, socially, and psychologically. They influence how people respect and regard you, what opportunities you're given, what people assume. They impact your mouth health, bone health, even the shape of your face. Perhaps most importantly, they factor into how you feel about yourself - your appearance, your self-esteem. I want my brother to have a healthy mouth, but more than that, I want him to feel free of the embarrassment that has dampened his smile for years.

The Ask:
Anything you can do to help us makes a huge difference. The procedures are time sensitive as the bone continues to degrade and teeth shift, so we have limited time to raise the funds. Donate a little, donate a lot, donate again later? Share with a friend, share with a group, share with them all?! I am grateful for any and all contributions of your time, attention and resources.

Thank you for your love and support,
Adrian's big sis
Chelsey

TL;DR - little brother needs professional help to not look like a hobo :P
