Mission Trip to Haiti June 2013

Over the last several months, God has been leading us to do missions work.  We weren't really sure what we were supposed to do, but then the message was clear...Haiti.  Our church is sending a group to an orphanage in Haiti this summer to minister to the children living there, the people who care for them & the surrounding community.  We have prayed about this opportunity for several weeks now & believe this is what God is calling us to do.  This will be a very difficult trip on many levels, but we are excited to see what God does through this trip for us as a couple, a family, a church & as His children.  

The orphanage we are going to is called Alex's House (http://alexshouse-haiti.blogspot.com/).  The orphanage opened on February 15, 2010 (Graham's birthday) to help meet the needs of the children left without parents or homes after the earthquake.  You can visit their website & see all of the exciting things they are working towards this year.  We can't wait to meet these children & love on them!  God has great plans for each of their lives!

We are asking that most of all, you will pray for us.  Pray for us as parents as we will leave Graham for a week (we have never done this before & this momma is struggling with that in a big way).  Pray for our church group that our hearts will be open to the wonderful things God will accomplish through us during this trip.  Pray for our safe travels.  Pray for the people who work at the orphanage.  Pray for the children we be meeting & sharing God's love with.  Pray for the community around the orphanage as we minister to them.   Pray that God's will, will be done.

We are also asking that if you feel lead to do so, that you consider helping with the expense of this trip.  It is an expensive trip (renewing passports, flights, food, room, etc.) & with two of us going that means twice the expense.  Any gift you can give will be truly appreciated.  If you like to contribute any items for the orphanage, we would gladly see that the children receive them (clothes, toys, toiletries, etc).
