Janie's Recovery

Donation protected
Our dear friend Janie, a 70-years-young, beautiful soul, was attacked in her home in the wee hours of the morning on May 1, 2016. She was brutally beaten and suffered multiple injuries including facial fractures, a broken jaw, broken and amputated fingers, a broken rib, and a traumatic brain injury from which she has not fully recovered yet. She has been recovering in the hospital since (52 days), and her loved ones are anticipating her release.

As they say about left-handers, Janie has always been bursting with creativity. She’s an artist and a writer who is full of life and ambition, and she unapologetically refuses to lose these wonderful qualities. When Janie began her journey of becoming a permanent makeup artist, she found a new passion that paired her artistic ability and her desire to help people. Janie has been doing permanent makeup for 15 years and successfully started and maintained her own permanent makeup business. Sadly, her attacker has taken away her livelihood, possibly forever. During the attack, two of Janie’s fingers on her left hand were broken. While surgeons were able to successfully operate on and save her ring finger, they had no choice but to amputate her middle finger past the knuckle. She may never be able to do permanent makeup again.

In this difficult time, the financial obstacles have already begun, and funds are needed for Janie's care and home expenses. No arrest has been made as the investigation into the attempted murder is ongoing. Janie’s attacker is still out there, and funds will also be needed to ensure her safety.

All donations will go directly to Janie and her recovery. Your donation will go to the following expenses.

Income supplement

Home and Living Expenses

Assistive Medical Technology

Home Security System

Transportation to and from Rehabilitation Therapy

Janie has not lost her tenacious spirit, and we are all praying for a full recovery. We appreciate every donation, big or small, that will bring some financial relief to Janie and her loved ones so her recovery can be center focus.

Thank you so much for helping turn this horrible tragedy into a story of recovery and resilience. God Bless.
