HELP KATE

Donation protected
Kate is strong, Kate is a fighter, Kate is positive and spiritual and Kate is proven to be resilient.

And yet, Kate needs your help!

During Christmas of 2016, Katherine Ayla Bolduc was diagnosed with ductal breast cancer.   Kate was only 27 at that time.  She tested positive for the BRAC2 gene and choose to have a bilateral mastectomy.  Last month, her surgeon found two enlarged lymph glands under her arm.  A biopsy confirmed that Kate’s breast cancer has returned.

Kate started a 5-month course of chemotherapy. After chemo, she will have surgery to remove all the lymph glands from that area.  Post-surgery, she will have radiation therapy.

It is impossible for Kate to continue to work because of the side effects of the chemotherapy.  Her white blood cell count is dangerously low. She is considered a “contract employee” and has no sick time or disability insurance. Although her husband is employed, they need both incomes to survive. They have the typical monthly commitments related to owning a home as well as the added medical care costs. Her family has helped them financially recover from the first cancer episode however this series of treatments will be quite lengthy and has created a tremendous financial burden for everyone. Kate does not see herself as a victim with this illness. She sees it as another opportunity to connect with more wonderful people.

PLEASE help us raise enough money to replace Kate’s lost income. Any amount that you can afford will be a tremendous help in reaching our goal. To make it easier on Kate, she and Karen, her Mom, will be jointly responsible for the bank account and the fund distribution.

Please share this with your family and friends as well. Post it on your Facebook, and use any other social media so that you can also help us spread the word. Let’s help Kate focus on getting well and not worry about how to pay for living!

If you are unable to donate, please know that we will be grateful for a simple prayer or good wish on Kate’s behalf.

We have been humbled by her experience and will be forever grateful for your kindness and generosity.
