Mabel’s Dental Surgery

This is Mabel. She came to my door 3 years ago. She was hungry, skinny and suffering with a terrible case of flea dermatitis. I began feeding her and once I had built some trust, I took her to the vet. She became our community cat within our small apartment complex and I made sure she got the monthly flea control she needed to keep the dermatitis away. She made it clear that she was happier outdoors as long as she had a safe and warm place to sleep at night.

The months rolled by and Mabel formed a special bond with my neighbor, Karen. She began spending the evenings indoors watching tv and napping on Karen’s sofa, but ultimately preferred to leave at bedtime. But a few months ago, Mabel decided the indoor life wasn’t so bad and Karen officially adopted her!

Mabel is no spring chicken! The vet thinks she’s at least 12 years old. A recent check up revealed that she desperately needs some dental care, which explains her terrible breath! Karen is retired and can’t afford the $975 for oral surgery (including bloodwork).
