On Wednesday, January 13, 2021, my husband Vance was standing in front of me and then collapsed to the floor. I was unable to wake him so I grabbed his cell phone and called 9-1-1. The 9-1-1 operator had me place the phone to Vance’s face. She said his breathing was too erratic and I would need to start chest compressions.
Time for me stood still, I had no idea I had been doing it for 20 minutes until the EMTs arrived. My oldest son woke first and was able to get the baby from the crib. The other three children woke one at a time The older ones looked after the younger ones so I could follow Vance to the ER.
What we know now is that Vance suffered an aneurysmic brain bleed. He has a long-term stay ahead of him in an Neural ICU in South Carolina. We miss him terribly and cannot see him Face to face due to COVID. I am starting this fundraising page for those of you who want to help in a hands on way. Our meal train will last until Feb 3rd, so those who want to give elsewhere can give here.
