Kris Rekstad Funeral and Medical Expenses

We are starting this GOFundMe campaign for Kris Rekstad's family and their medical and funeral expenses following Kris's death from Covid.
Kris was a family man. He loved his three children and seven grandchildren. He loved other people's children and at any given time, they had someone else living in their house with them. They took in stray kids, stray cats and stray dogs. That's how it was at The Rekstad's and Kris was always available for a good laugh. He had a unique relationship with everyone and unfortunately, will not be riding into the sunset with Emily. They are going to miss their "golden" years together and he is going to miss seeing his Grandchildren grow up!
Kris Rekstad became ill shortly after Thanksgiving with probable Covid.He was tested at his clinic, and while awaiting the results of his test, he experience extreme shortness of breath. On Sunday, December 6th, his wife Emily drove him to the emergency room at United. Due to the rules in place, she was unable to accompany him inside. She returned home, expecting to return shortly and retrieve Kris; sadly this was not the case. The diagnosis indeed was Covid, Oxygen was given and Kris was admitted to the ICU. From there, unfortunately his condition only worsened, to the point where just a few days later, after a panic attack, he was intubated in the middle of the night. Never to speak to his family again. While his body fought hard, he was never able to turn the corner. On the 10th of January, the doctors allowed Emily and kids be at his side while the last of the life-saving equipment was disconnected. He passed away, while his family all held his hand. We are starting this GoFundMe campaign to help with the hospital bills related to an ICU stay of five weeks, as well as help with funeral costs. We gratefully appreciate your donation.
