Heather Bishop Memorial Scholarship

Hello, My name is Brennen Bishop and I started this GoFund me to help raise money for the “Heather Bishop Memorial Scholarship”.
My mother (Heather) passed away on January 3rd 2021 after a strong two and a half year battle of colon cancer. Besides being my absolute best friend and my rock, my mom was and will continue to be a hero for my family, and many others in our small community.
Growing up in a small town in Florida called “Floral City”, my mom attended Floral City Elementary where she was third generation. After going to the University of Central Florida and becoming a teacher, she returned to Floral City Elementary and taught ESE as well as technology for 25 years.
My little brother and I where extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to attend Floral City Elementary with our mom by our side.
With the tragedy of my moms passing weighing extremely heavy on my entire family’s heart, we thought that the perfect way to honor my mom would be to create a scholarship for graduating seniors from our local high school (Citrus High School) that attended Floral City Elementary. Me and my family feel that my mom would be overjoyed to be able to continue her care and love for her students.
Besides her love for the school, Floral City is historically a low income area, so having the ability to help students from this particular town better their education after high school is something that my mom would be extremely proud to do.
