Medical expenses for the family of David McSwain

When We first met Dave in the mid 80’s we were at a little Church we started attending called Coast Bible Church. He was enrolled in a Children’s ministry called AWANA and soon found his heart and abilities were requested as a Sunday school leader. We spent that decade watching God use David in a powerful way in our children’s lives. Maybe it was the way our kids loved his quirky unpredictable style mixed with his resolute devotion to the truth that made it easy to befriend David. Or maybe he befriended us... He seemed to have unlimited energy to apply to ministering to others’ needs. We found him developing and running a sound and lighting system for the choir team which later became a worship team as the decade rolled by. His unique adaptability carried over into a Church High Sierra hiking ministry that over 5 years allowed many of us to hike the complete 250 miles + of the John Muir Trail system. David invented campfire sessions for small groups during those years LOL. Many souls were put at ease around those camp fires... Just when you saw how full this young man’s life was of serving others he revealed a ministry he supported for abused children in the California Social System; Alandale Christian Camp in Hemet, Ca. where he would spend 25 years + of his life as a Counselor to troubled young souls. He spent over a decade working with multiple Churches. From a Church in Rancho Santa Margarita named Stone Creek to one “motel church” program in Santa Ana connected with the Celebrate recovery program out of Saddleback ministries helping the homeless families devastated by bad turns in life that left them destitute... David was always available for you. No matter what your circumstance or what demons chased you. He would always have a message of hope and a hot cup of coffee for you. In his last season of life he had relocated closer to his family in Fresno. After some time he found selling land with a brokerage firm wasn’t quite a fit and he moved into Construction. It was a natural fit for David’s boundless energy and seeming unlimited adaptability and creativity. David had owned a picture framing shop all through his 20’s and 30’s and this gave him a relentless work ethic and a keen eye for detail. His abilities and construction experience led to an opportunity to work in the safety and water quality management side of the construction industry. He thrived in this environment. All the people and work skills he had developed over his lifetime of endeavors would be realized and put to fulfilling use there. David will be survived by his wonderful wife Monica and his 3 daughters; Victoria, Vianca and Atiana. His only Grandson Conrad is with Victoria. Also Holly McSwain his Mother and his only brother Tom. His legacy will be to God’s glory. We’ll make sure of it....
