Johnston Town Dogs Rehab

With the efforts of several women in the community, the “Johnston town dogs” were rescued! It was not an easy feat. The Mama had a litter of 8 puppies just prior to Christmas which were all successfully caught and transferred to a rescue organization where they will get medical care and eventually adopted to homes. A few days later, Mama dog, who we named “Lola” and her baby from a prior litter, daughter dog or “DD”, were also captured and are in safe hands and off the streets, together. Due to how feral both Lola and DD are, we decided not to take them to a shelter. We wanted to provide them with an environment where they can learn to trust people. My husband and I are currently fostering them. Both Lola and DD will require a lot of medical care. They are both heartworm positive (which requires treatment) and will need to be spayed. In addition, DD has an eye condition called entropion, which will require surgery. If anyone is interested in helping support these two sweet dogs in their road to recovery, any donation would be greatly appreciated! We estimate the total cost for both dogs combined will be at least $1,500. Any additional money raised will be donated to the the rescue where the puppies were taken to.
