Mackenzie's road to recovery

Donation protected

Last March, our then 18 months old baby girl developed brain inflammation and swelling after having caught the flu. She had to relearn everything from eating to holding her head. Our then very active toddler is now having intensive physio and occupational therapy to learn how to walk again.
Her brain damage left her with a visual impairment. The doctors are not able to determine how much she is able to see and if this will be permanent.

We stayed in the hospital for 8 weeks and are now going out of town every other week for therapy. On our "week off" we are meeting local OT and PT, doctors, specialists, etc. I have not been able to work since March 15th 2016. Our resources are getting low and the additional costs are getting to our family. We don't seem to fit in any program since her life is not in danger anymore and her longterm outcome is still incertain.

I would like to be able to stay at home with my two kids and help my youngest in her healing without all the financial stress.
