Help Milo get a diagnosis

Donation protected
Hi everyone. I’m setting this page up to hopefully get help in raising the money that’s needed for my beautiful Shih Tzu Milo to have an MRI scan to give him a diagnosis and treatment he desperately needs. This is his story. Last Thursday 10th December 2020.. Milo started acting unusual showing signs of unsettledness and sadness. As the day went on, he was getting more sad and unsettled. Friday 11th December 2020, I called PDSA and explained what was happening. They made an appointment that day. The vet checked Milo’s temperature and checked for any blockage in his bladder, both came back fine. I was told he’s probably pulled a muscle and was sent home with meloxicam (painkillers) and strict rest for 7 days. I was still worried it was more than a pulled muscle but I gave the painkillers a chance. He seemed to have better spirits and no signs of pain or discomfort. However the next morning, the discomfort was back but slightly worse than the day before. I called the PDSA again and asked for a vet to check Milo again. I was told if I bring him along, I’m more than likely going to be waiting for 3 hours or more and it would be best for Milo to be seen the next day rather than waiting in the vet for all that time. The next day came and he seemed to not be as bad so I was hopeful he was getting better. Tuesday 15th December I was 100% sure it was more than a pulled muscle, Milo had his head to the floor, shaking all over, he was losing his balance and walking in the wall, wouldn’t respond or look to me when i said his name. I phoned the Vet again to be told Milo will act this way if he’s hurt the muscle in his neck and be unbalanced if he’s hurt his muscle in his legs. I said I know Milo isn’t right. He’s hurt his leg before and he’s still Milo just got a limp. This is different and I really think he needs to be checked again. Reluctantly she booked him in for 7pm but told me to wrap up warm as I’m in for a long wait. When I got to the PDSA Huyton hospital, I pressed the buzzer to let them know we were there and we sat in the car as she said someone will come out when the Vet is ready to see Milo. 5 minutes later I heard Milos name over the intercom. I was then told that there is at least a 6 hour wait as there are 3 animals in with serious injuries. I said that’s ok I will wait as I’m really concerned and need Milo to be checked again. She then said these animals will probably be needing surgery in a life or death situation. I then said I will wait I don’t mind, to then be told “I’m really sorry but we only have 1 vet here and there are 4 more emergencies on the way so I should take Milo home and call back in the morning. I ended up being turned away again for the second time and she told me after reading Milo’s notes I really need to be persisting with the painkillers. The next day Milo still no better, I heard a yelp come from the living room, I ran to see what happened to find Milo collapsed, lifeless and shaking on the floor. I didn’t bother phoning again I took him straight down, I pressed the buzzer to be told to bare with them while they type some notes. I cried “please help me, my dog has collapsed and shaking” 4 people came running out including 2 Vets and took him straight in. Milo is now unable to walk or weight bare and showing signs of Vestibular desease. Something that should’nt of been missed. He was misdiagnosed and has now lost the ability to walk. He’s distressed when he’s trying to get up and he can’t. PDSA said to get a full diagnosis Milo is going to need an MRI scan which they don’t have the facility for and I would need to go private. My worries were made to feel of no importance when I tried to tell them again and again. Only just 8 years old he shouldn’t be this sick. If anyone can donate anything at all, it would be so greatly appreciated and Milo could get the right treatment and make a full recovery. Pets are more than just a pet, Milo is part of my family and they should be just as important as people. Life is so cruel at times. If there is a God up there please spare Milo’s life and let him make a full recovery
