Barrios Family Emergency Surgery Unexpected Costs

 

The father is having medical issues and during Covid, he has decided to take the safer option and is being released home to have in home care nurses for his antibiotics and after his insurance, out of pocket expenses will still cost them $5500 with an upfront payment or he chooses to stay admitted in the hospital where he is risking being exposed to Covid and the worst part, his family cannot visit him. He recently had to go through an emergency amputation and needs 6 weeks of antibiotics administered at home daily through an IV. He had an emergency appendectomy last September, emergency cholecystectomy this February, followed now by this. It’s been a rough year for them and this didn’t help!

 

The kids (3 kids, one with a rare syndrome requiring his own medical care as well) have all agreed that Christmas is not going to happen this year and just happy to have their dad on the road to recovery.
